Meghalaya 5 Day Itinerary
A practical first-trip route that avoids repeating Shillong sightseeing and reduces unnecessary backtracking.
Day 2 — Shillong local
Combine Ward’s Lake, Elephant Falls and viewpoints according to traffic and weather. Keep the day comfortable before the longer hill route.
Day 3 — Shillong to Sohra
Drive around 2–3 hours before sightseeing. Choose waterfalls, caves and viewpoints that match the season and walking ability. Overnight Sohra.
Day 4 — Sohra to Dawki/Shnongpdeng
Travel via Mawlynnong when time permits. Boating and water clarity depend on rainfall and local conditions. Overnight Shnongpdeng or return toward Shillong.
Day 5 — Departure to Guwahati
Leave early for Guwahati Airport; allow extra buffer for hill traffic, meal stops and flight check-in.
